Tom Mix, pseudonimo di Thomas Hezikiah Mix, (Mix Run, 6 gennaio 1880 – Florence, 12 ottobre 1940)
E' stato un attore cinematografico statunitense, protagonista dei primi film muti di genere western.
Nato con il nome di Thomas Hezikiah Mix, era figlio di un boscaiolo. Si arruolò in un'unità di artiglieria, ma fu dichiarato disertore nel 1902. Prima di intraprendere la carriera di attore, fece parecchi mestieri, dal cowboy al ranger del Texas, agli spettacoli del circo. Iniziò a interpretare dei film nel 1910 per la Selig, poi nel 1917 passò alla Fox e cominciò ad essere conosciuto dal pubblico. In molti film recitò con il suo fido cavallo Tony. Si ritirò nel 1935 dopo l'uscita del suo ultimo film, The Miracle Rider, che incassò oltre un milione di dollari.
Morì a 60 anni, nel 1940, in un incidente d'auto a Florence, in Arizona. Dopo il funerale alla Little Church of the Flowers, Tom Mix fu sepolto al Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery di Glendale, California.
